CRI is a charity working in both Social Care and Health.  They provide support to individuals with a range of problems such as drugs, alcohol, domestic abuse and lots more.

 RU OK Works with under 18's living in Brighton and Hove with susbtance misuse problems.  They offer confidential and free advice.
Know when to stop Recommended safe limits of alcohol - Always see your doctor or practice nurse if you are drinking above the recommended limits of alcohol and are finding it difficult to cut down.



 Alzheimers The Alzheimers Society works to improve the quality of life of people affected affected by dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.



 Bereavement Cruse Bereavement gives face-to-face and group support by trained bereavement support volunteers across the UK, after the death of someone close. 
Information, leaflets and support for children is also available.

 Meals on Wheels Traditional hot meals service.  For people who have trouble with shopping, carrying food home or cooking for themselves.
 The Fed The Fed is a user-led organisation that promotes independent living.

Samaritans  There when you need someone to talk to - they dont rush or interrupt.  For whatever you want to talk about.


Domestic Abuse

 The Portal The Portal helps you find advice and support in Brighton & Hove and East Sussex.

 In an Emergency call the police on 999. 

 You can also use 101 to give information to the police or make an enquiry.
Rise  RISE is a charity that helps with refuge accomodation, counselling, legal and all sorts of other help are available.



CRI  A social care abd health charity organisation, who works with individuals, families and communities.  They cover anyone affected by drugs, alcohol, crime, homelessness, domestic abuse and antisocial behaviour.
Drug Rehab  They aim to be the best resource for drug, alcohol or precription addiction.
Brighton Oasis Project  OASIS are a women-only substance misuse service.  They support women who have a drink or drug related problem, offering a non-judgemental approach.
RU-OK?  They work alongside under 18s whose lives are affected by substance misuse in Brighton and Hove.  They off a free, confidential and expert service and support.



 Health Walks There are 18 regular walks across the city and lengths range from under a mile, up to three miles.  They are all free and led by volunteer walk leaders.  Public transport is close by. Excellent general guide for symptoms, health info and medicine guide.  Used extensively here at the practice by our clinical staff.
Healthy Lifestyle - B&H Coluncil

This includes how to self-refer for support with weight loss, exercise etc.

Headache diary cards which record information about the attacks of migraine and other headaches are valuable in assisting the doctor and patients with diagnosis, assessing trigger factors and assessing the effectiveness of treatments.

This needs to be completed as much as possible as this will help the doctor help you.

The diary card (one for each month) is very easy to use.


Learning Disability

Mencap  Working in partnership with people who have learning disabilities.  Everything they do is about valuing and supporting peole with a learning disability, their families and their carers.



 Allsorts A project based in Brighton to support and empower young people under 26 who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans or simply unsure.
 The Gender Trust A listening ear, caring support and an information centre for anything concerning Gender Identity issues.
LGBT Switchboard  Registered charity providing support for the Brighton and Hove LGBT community.

The Clock Tower Sanctuary  Providing information, advice and support to young people aged 16 to 25, who are homeless, or insecurely housed.  They offer a friendly space, food, drink, access to computers and internet as well as much more.
DOC Ready  Doc Read helps you get ready for the first time you visit a doctor to discuss your mental health.
 Duke of Edinburgh's Providing a programme of activities to young people between 14 adn 25.
